Yannis grew up on Rhodes Island in Greece, where his grandfather owned a big boat for fishing and sponge diving. Every summer, he would go on the boat, venturing as far as the coast of Africa to catch various kinds of fish, including octopuses, calamari, and sea urchins.
Yannis learned the art of fishing from the professionals on board, and also how to determine the freshness of the catch. He later pursued his passion for cooking by attending a culinary institute in Athens, Greece, and then further honed his skills at a Calinarian Institute in America.
Together with two partners, Angel, who is a restaurateur, and Emanuel, who is also a restaurateur and professional chef, they share a love for cooking the freshest fish and lobster.
